My name is Amelia Rose and I’ve been photographing children & families for over five years – photographing everything else for about ten! I’m 25 years old with a 2 and a half year old, two cats and a dog!
I started out originally photographing bands – live music in various venues across Manchester and further, and doing promotional photos for bands. I then went on to work as a photographer for different paranormal investigation companies and then into family & wedding photography.
I started my business doing photography mobile, travelling to clients houses and setting up in their living rooms – which wasn’t ideal! After my son was born in 2015 I got a very small studio space in Hope Mill, Ancoats. A year later, I moved to another (slightly less small) space above a barber shop in Openshaw, and in February 2017 I moved into my obnoxiously brightly coloured shop in Ashton-under-Lyne.
The thing I love most about my business is that some of my clients have been with me from the very beginning, and every month I get to start a new journey with a brand new human! So many of my newborns come back for their six month, cake smash and further photos throughout their lives and it’s amazing (and slightly scary!) watching your little people grow! I also get to share the best once-in-a-lifetime experiences with my clients – their wedding days, births, christenings, sometimes even first steps or first rolls in the studio too!
My business is always changing, just two weeks into 2018 I’ve already implemented a lot of positive changes to benefit my clients, read my blog on it here.

My family are hard to photograph! Can you help?
This is the question I get so much! First off, take a look at my testimonials regarding children who so don’t want to have their photo taken and how we work magic to get them to smile perfectly for your photos! Secondly, I have tons of experience with children and know at least 99% of the tricks to get them to come round. Sometimes, I may suggest a re-shoot or location change if our session isn’t going how you thought! It happens all the time, it’s called working with children! I’m completely used to it and would rather you have a small inconvenience of having to come back to the studio or elsewhere and get the photos you desire and more, than struggle with small people who don’t want to cooperate!
How does it all work?
Whether you’ve never had a photoshoot before or having mini models in your house, every photographer works differently and will provide a different experience. First, upon enquiring and deciding on your session, date and package, a non-refundable deposit is paid to secure your appointment. This may be a date TBC – especially for newborns – however even without a set date, a deposit is paid to secure one the appointments that week – particularly with newborns, I only take on a set amount of newborns per month so booking early is the best course of action.
Please arrive to your session 15 minutes early, to get yourself and your children ready for the session. After your session, a date will be arranged within the next 10-14 days to return to the studio to view your images. The remaining balance is payable on the day of your session.
With your permission, a sneak peek is posted on the Facebook page within 48 hours of your session.
At your viewing appointment, you will see all your photos fully edited on a high resolution screen. The digital images you get with your package, if applicable, and any additional you purchase will be ready to take home with you on the day. Prints, canvases and further items take around two weeks from ordering and payment. Additional items are available to purchase at your viewing appointment, and payment plans are available on orders over £200.
I take all major debit and credit cards in the studio and over the phone, alternatively you can pay by PayPal, bank transfer or cash. Cheques are not accepted.
How long do you keep my photos for?
Photos are never deleted. After 12 months, raw files are deleted and all jpeg files are archived. There is a cost to retrieve them from archive, please contact me if you have an old session you would like access to.
